The Orange pub on Belgravia’s Pimlico Road has welcomed thirsty Londoners for centuries. Opened in 1800 as a brewery and, it’s reported, named after William of Orange, the pub has become known for connections with royal heirs ever since. Our dramatic revamp will reignite this favourite haunt and return the atmosphere to its former glory.
The relaunch will see the space come to life with a hugely extended bar area running through the entire ground floor. A great place to hang out with friends. There’ll be a special charcuterie station from which the team will churn out lashings of Mediterranean-inspired cured meats and a wood-fired pizza oven.
Ben Tish, our Chef Director has created an entirely new menu for the launch of The Orange with his innovative and Mediterranean inspired take on pub classics. There’ll be mouth watering hearty Large Plates like the Angus Ribeye with Roasted Onions and Comte; and the Wood Roast Chicken with Grapes, Wine and Rosemary; as well as smaller plates to start (or for sharing), like the Roast Squid with Za’tar and Aioli and the Grilled Lamb & Rosemary Arrosticini. All of the food will be super seasonal and flavour-rich, and the pizzas (which can be ordered to take away too) are no exception.
The lower ground floor will be a bar to revel in! Clad with wine bottles and with its very own vault space we’ll be hosting live music throughout the year. The first floor, with its multileveled three dining rooms, is reminiscent of historic coaching inns with their enclosed and intimate spaces. Huge windows brighten the floor and look over the busy Pimlico Road, still to this day a centre for design, interiors and antiques with the newly renovated Newson’s Yard and Pimlico’s Design Quarter.
Georgie Pearman designed the new interiors and bedrooms for the Orange focusing on using natural paint made from earth and mineral pigments from Edward Bulmer Natural Paint, whose London shop is opposite the Orange in the Pimlico Design District. Georgie has also used lampshades & fabrics from Fermoie & Nina Campbell. Georgie said “it’s been amazing doing this project in the Pimlico design district because I just had to walk out the door and source things from all the neighbouring shops!” From Lulu Lytle of Soane , The Laquer Company to And Objects. Lighting was sourced from Original btc . Georgie has mixed vintage and antique items with the modern and there are also a lot of bespoke items made specifically for the project too.
