BEST PRIVATE HIRE ROOMS FOR CHRISTMAS PARTIES IN LONDON

BEST PRIVATE HIRE ROOMS FOR CHRISTMAS PARTIES IN LONDON

We’re a few weeks from the clocks changing, the Strictly Come Dancing line-up is out and there’s a distinct nip in the air. All of which means one thing: the festive season is swiftly approaching and there is nothing you can do about it. But frankly, Scrooge, why would you want to? After all, there’s nowhere quite like London at this time of year, with twinkly lights, ice rinks, roaring fireplaces, carol singers and mulled wine aplenty. And if you’re anything like us, you’ll want to maximise your merry-making with Christmas lunches, festive dinners and of course, end-of-year celebrations galore.

Where to Host a Christmas Party in London

The only slight spanner in the works? Finding the perfect place for your relaxed lunch, sophisticated drinks reception or grand festive dinner. That’s where Cubitt House comes in. With a handful of charming, centrally-located pubs across the capital, not to mention extremely friendly staff (we’ve won awards for our hospitality), we’re the ideal people to host your Christmas shindig. In fact, we’ve got charming private hire rooms suitable for every party size and vibe, whether you’re looking for cocktails and canapés or a sit down three-course feast.

Central London Pub Venues Perfect for Private Hire This Christmas

The most important consideration when choosing a party destination? The location, of course. After all, London is notoriously sprawling and can be a nightmare to get from A to B at the best of times, so in our expert opinion it’s always best to stick to the tried and tested – which means central.

Our pubs are in Notting Hill, Marylebone, Belgravia and Chelsea, which means they tick this box. Yes, it might be a boring logistical point, but honestly, it should be the first thing you’re thinking about. You want people to turn up, right?

London Christmas Parties: Feasting Menus, Festive Cocktails & All the Trimmings

The next thing any party-planner worth their salt will be thinking about is the food and drink. At Cubitt House, we’re famous for our modern menu of classic pub grub with a contemporary spin, with standout favourites including Scotch Eggs, Pies, and Oysters. At Christmas, we take things up a notch (it’s only right) with feasting platters and indulgent desserts, not to mention seasonal cocktails and fine wine pairings. Think starters like Cashel Blue Cauliflower Cheese Croquettes, or Hot Smoked Trout & Horseradish Rillettes, followed by quintessential roast Norfolk Bronze Turkey with all the trimmings, including Sprouts, Chestnuts, Roast Potatoes and Red Cabbage, with a choice of Sticky Toffee Pudding or Pump Street Chocolate and Orange Fudge to finish. Stretchy waistbands optional.

OK, so now we’ve sold you on the brilliant locations, warm atmosphere, knowledgeable staff and top notch cuisine, you’re probably wanting to know about the specific spaces you can hire. And there’s a lot of them. Too many to detail here, to be honest. But here’s the top line.

Private Hire Spaces for Large Groups: Alf’s and Other Grand Rooms

Our newest space for 2025 is Alf’s, the upstairs dining room at The Alfred Tennyson. Perfect for groups looking for more of a fine dining experience, it’s filled with antiques and lit with soft candlelight, creating a refined yet intimate atmosphere. Seating up to 48 guests, it’s handy for bigger teams who want to sit down for a slap-up meal in a chic environment.

Other spaces that cater to bigger groups include the First Floor Restaurant at The Barley Mow, which has seating for 55 people, while for something more low-key and relaxed you could head to The Restaurant and Snug at The Builders Arms, which has a cosy atmosphere for up to 55 between both adjoining spaces. Then there’s the First Floor Restaurant at The Grazing Goat, which is our biggest space for sit-down dining, accommodating a whopping 70 people.

Cosy Snugs and Intimate Dining Rooms for Parties & Gatherings

If the occasion calls for something really grand and characterful, you can’t go wrong with one of the private dining rooms at The Princess Royal too – The Victoria is the grandest, seating 20 with a private outdoor balcony, while The Charlotte is slightly smaller, catering to 12 people at a round table.

For the less formal affairs that require something a little more intimate and cosy, there are our charmingly named Snugs. We’ve even got one at The Builders Arms that is called The Snug and Fireplace, which, unsurprisingly, also features a fireplace. While the spaces are smaller, that doesn’t mean we scrimp on service, with the same warm hospitality and incredible food and drink on offer too.

Unique London Christmas Party Venues: Cocktail Bars, Conservatories & More

An extra special option is the Blood Orange Bar, our subterranean cocktail bar hidden underneath the main pub at The Orange. Recently refurbished, it’s got a cool speakeasy vibe and does a roaring trade in its signature Blood Orange Martinis and charcuterie. And if you’re looking for somewhere atmospheric that makes the most of that moody mid-winter lighting, then look no further than The Conservatory at The Princess Royal, which as one would expect from the name, has a glass ceiling.
