Sapling is a climate positive British spirits company leading the way to a more eco-conscious way of drinking. To do this, they distil from 100% British wheat using regenerative wild farmed grain, they focus on eliminating glass waste as well as planting one tree for every bottle sold. On each bottle a unique code tells you what tree was planted where and a little about the planting project. From fruit trees in London to Oak trees in Bristol.
We caught up with Ed Faulkner, co-founder of Sapling to find out more about how the company started and its tree planting focus.

The company started in 2018 while running tree planting projects in Scotland. They turned a project into a party and managed to get so many more people involved in the project by offering them something fun in return – cocktails and music. There were no sustainable spirits to stock the bar, so they started planting a tree for every bottle of spirit sold – and with that, Sapling was born! We started the brand with three goals; to lead the way with sustainability in the drinks industry, tackle climate change and make world-class spirits.
The spirits are distilled using only British wheat and charcoal filtered, de-ionised water. The result is a creamy, smooth spirit with a touch of natural sweetness. Sapling gin is a classic twist on a London Dry; bold on the juniper, refreshingly zesty, and hints of rosemary for a herbaceous finish.
