We love our wine at Cubitt House and so have developed our very own Chianti – the perfect complement to our Mediterranean inspired dishes as well as our Sunday roasts.

For over twenty years, Alberto Antonini has been overseeing a project that involves a number of growers who farm vineyards in the area surrounding his home town of Cerreto Guidi. Alberto oversees and consults on vineyard management and harvest timing, selecting only the best fruit that is then vinified in a shared winery that is only a couple of miles away from his Poggiotondo estate. Named Buontalenti after the famous 16th century Florentine architect who designed the Villa Medicea in Cerreto Guidi, this Chianti shows beautiful depth, ripe aromatics and a long finish.
This Chianti is a lovely ruby red in colour. On the nose it has vibrant cherry and red berry fruit perfumes with notes of raspberry and blueberry. Some tertiary characters emerge with a light spice of black pepper and cloves. The wine is spicier on the palate than the nose, fresh and fruit driven, juicy and lively with great balance.
