Built in the 1800s as a brewery, on the site of a former coffee house, The Orange is said to be named after William of Orange. Fast forward to today, the grand pub sits over 4 floors, positioned in the famed craft district of the Pimlico Road providing a stylish hub to eat, drink, party and sleep. Having just undergone a dramatic revamp The Orange has been reignited and the atmosphere returned to its former glory.
The whole of the ground floor is the large and welcoming bar area. The first floor, with its multileveled three dining rooms, is reminiscent of historic coaching inns with their enclosed and intimate spaces. Huge windows brighten the floor and look over the busy Pimlico Road, still to this day a centre for design, interiors and antiques. The menu is a Mediterranean inspired take on pub classics with small and large sharing plates as well as pizzas.
A very good reason to get out of bed: Scrambled Burford Browns, Wild Mushrooms, Truffle and Parmesan.
Saturdays in our neighbourhood start at the market and end with a glass at The Orange. Duke of York Square is just a short stroll away.
