The Orange has just undergone a huge revamp, returning it to its former glory as one of the most popular and stylish pubs in Belgravia. Originally a coffee house and a brewery, it was named after William of Orange, and has long been one of the best spots in town. We reckon the old King himself would quite like it today, with our convivial atmosphere, great food and comfy rooms.
Best of British design
When it came to revamping the pub, we looked locally for the best interior designers and artisans to decorate it with, and we didn’t have to look far. Located in the famous and historic Pimlico Road Design District, we’re a hop, skip and a jump from some of the coolest British brands of both the past and present, from Soane Britain to And Objects – which is where our wallpaper and lighting is from, as a matter of fact.
Refurbished bedrooms with comfortable beds
The impeccable design extends to our refurbished bedrooms (why, of course), with some of the most comfortable beds in town, in our totally unbiased opinion. All rooms come with an Emperor or king-sized bed by The Cotswold Bed Company, plus our bathrooms are stocked with toiletries by British brand 100 Acres. With playful touches like patterned wallpaper and brightly coloured headboards, they make a great backdrop for that Instagram selfie too.
Wood-fired pizzas & Charcuterie
The entire ground-floor area is home to the bar, where wood-fired pizzas and charcuterie are king. It’s Chef Director Ben Tish’s favourite part of the “new” Orange, and it’s easy to see why. As with everything he does, the menu is inspired by the Mediterranean, albeit with a twist: from the fennel sausage, spinach, creme fraiche and egg pizza, to the smoked anchovy, taleggio, fontina, potato and thyme one. Not super hungry? Then watch the barman slice up some charcuterie for you, and wash it down with a signature Blood Orange Margarita.
The Blood Orange Bar
Hidden in the old brewery, behind a thick velvet curtain, the Blood Orange Bar is one of our favourite areas, especially for relaxed drinks with friends. Up to 10 can squeeze onto the U-shaped long sofa, which comes in a very joyful shade of orange (what else?). It’s part of any private booking at The Vault, which can cater to up to 25 for canapés and drinks.
Outdoor dining close to King’s Road and Sloane Square
We’re just a six-minute walk to well-heeled Sloane Square and the King’s Road, so what better place to prop yourself up with a cocktail and some stuffed Gordal olives to indulge in a little people-watching than our al fresco terrace? A bit of a sun-trap, it’s rare real estate indeed in central London, so we’re making the most of it!
