This autumn, The Princess Royal invites you to linger over a long Italian lunch or dinner inspired by the rolling hills and rustic flavours of Tuscany. Curated from Amber Guinness’ Winter in Tuscany, the menu celebrates regional classics with an elegant, seasonal touch.
Begin with delicate antipasti such as coccoli con prosciutto e stracchino—crispy “cuddles” of dough with silky prosciutto—or crostini with cavolo nero and cannellini beans. Move on to comforting primi, from rigatoni al sugo finto—a hearty, slow-simmered vegetable ragù with parmesan—to tonnarelli with artichokes and prosciutto.
Secondi include lemon-scented meatballs with garlicky rosemary beans, or the warming peposo, a black pepper stew served with cheesy polenta and cavolo nero. A vegetarian twist with mushrooms and chestnuts is also available. To finish, indulgent dolci such as cantucci with vin santo semifreddo or a delicate quince tarte tatin with ice cream.
An elegant Tuscan feast in the heart of Notting Hill—best enjoyed slowly, with friends and a good glass of wine.
Garden afternoons are best spent with a cocktail in hand.
