Back in 2012, Eddie Lofthouse saw a lack of craft beer in Cornwall, and what began as a side project turned into a full-time passion. Brewing flavour-packed yet easy-drinking beers, whether you’re on a sunny beach or cozying up after a windy walk, Harbour beer is made to be enjoyed.
We’re very happy to say we’re now pouring Harbour at all our Cubitt House pubs. We caught up with Eddie to ask him a few questions to get to know a bit more about Harbour and what they are all about.

What is your role in the company and can you tell us a little bit about what you do?
I’m Eddie Lofthouse, founder and Managing Director of Harbour Brewing Co. Over the years, I’ve taken on every role within the company—from cleaning the loos to product development. These days, I’m fortunate to have a fantastic team, so my role is to support them and ensure we’re all working towards the same goal.
We take great pride in the quality of our food and drink at Cubitt House ensuring we use only the very best ingredients and produce. We work with small scale and innovative companies operating sustainable practices that never compromise on quality. Can you explain how Harbour embodies this idea?

We’re a small family business tucked down a bumpy country lane in Cornwall. We don’t adhere to the 9-to-5 grind, boardrooms, or after-work drinks. The brewery is our playground, and our colleagues are our family. Through both the good days and the bad, our passion for crafting exceptional beer drives us forward.
Made with the finest raw ingredients—amazing hops and spring water tapped straight from the source—our beers are as bold as the team behind them and as raw and beautiful as the place we call home.
Located at the base of Bodmin Moor, the brewery benefits from the area’s abundant natural spring water. Before we took over, the facility was a spring water bottling plant. This pure, untreated water supply allows us to brew our beers without the need for excessive chemicals or additives in the process.

We’re committed to recycling as much as possible and keeping our operations local. Spent grain is a by product of brewing, we feed our grains to the cows on the farm and use their milk to make ice cream at our sister company, Treleavens Luxury Ice Cream. Brewing beer also generates a significant amount of wastewater, most breweries send it to a treatment facility but we’re always looking for ways to reuse our waste products. We discovered that this wastewater is rich in nutrients that can benefit crops. As a result, we now supply millions of liters of wastewater each year to a local potato farm, where it not only irrigates the crops but also enriches the soil.

Tell us a little bit about your beer and what we are pouring at Cubitt House.
We’re incredibly proud to supply Cubit House with our award-winning Lager, Singlefin. At 4%, it’s our go-to beer for any occasion. Clean and crisp with a zesty, lemony finish, Singlefin is refreshingly drinkable—perfect for an after-work pint or a night out with friends. Its versatility makes it an excellent food pairing, light enough not to overwhelm delicate dishes yet robust enough to complement complex, spicy flavors.

Which is your favourite Harbour Beer?
Asking me to pick my favorite beer is like asking which of my children I love most. Like any good parent, I’ll tell you each one has its own special qualities, and I just can’t choose. It really depends on the mood I’m in. Singlefin is my go-to when I’m sitting by the beach on a summer afternoon, but as the evening sets in, nothing beats our Big Wednesday IPA.
Come and enjoy a refreshing pint of Harbour Singlefin at any one of our 8 central London Pubs and enjoy a little bit of the of Cornwall in the heart of London.
