For 175 years they have assembled an unparalleled range of quality products, offering some of the finest meat you will ever taste. With traditional values shaping the business and with a focus on traditional British breeds. Walter Rose carefully select farms from local pastures in Wiltshire and Somerset. A team of chefs from Cubitt House went to visit some of these farms to really understand what provenance is all about.

One of those farms is Stokes Marsh Farm who have been supplying Walter Rose 6 decades. Located just 6 miles away from the butchers shop and cutting plant, the Johnsons beef is unrivalled. The animal husbandry, quality of beef and consistency are all reasons why we insist on only using their beef. Stokes Marsh Farm is completely sustainable and do not have to buy any products into the farm other than the diesel for their tractors

Another farm is Cameron and Muriel Naughton’s from West End Farm. Recently judged ‘National Pig producer of the year’, their pork is unrivalled in quality and consistency. The Naughtons were ‘pioneers’ of pig farming and the first to combine the highest levels of animal welfare and farming on a commercial scale. Pork is so underrated because there is so much bad pork out there in the market. However, Naughtons cross breed of a Hampshire x Duroc x Landrace is a winner that produces the finest pork with plenty of flavour, juiciness and the intramuscular ‘marbling’ that is commonly spoken about with beef. Believe us when we say this pork is amazing.
